Travis Plakke, Principle Broker
Travis, a Michigan native, is a recognized master problem-solver and technology specialist. He’s laser-focused and uniquely talented at conceptualizing—and implementing—cutting-edge technologies that drive sales and address challenges. With three decades of experience in casual dining, high-end concept restaurants, stadiums, steakhouses and hotels, Travis is an expert in operations, staff training and development, sales and profit planning, product launches and rollouts, beverage program creation, purchasing and organizational and managerial methods.
An active member of Denver’s business and nonprofit communities, Travis sits on the board of directors of Firefly Autism and is co-chair of Firefly Autism’s Laugh Yourself Blue. He was recently recognized by The Center on Colfax for his activism on behalf of the LGBTQ communities. Additionally, Travis serves on the sanctuary committee of Pepper’s Senior Dog Sanctuary, a local hospice that provides forever homes to elderly dogs.
Travis also invented an inventory/ordering application called Jellyfish, provides leadership to FIVE Colorado and has a commercial real-estate license, working alongside renowned real estate mogul Jim Sullivan. A former hair model, Travis, who still rocks the locks, loves to cook and collect knives. He has an abundance of tattoos, all of which symbolize meaningful moments of his life experiences.
When Travis isn’t brainstorming his next big idea, he’s cooking blueberry pancakes on Saturday mornings for his wife and kids.
JAMES MICHAEL SULLIVAN, Founder
James is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of SH Realty Partners, a Denver-based commercial real estate development company specializing in mixed-use, retail, commercial, multi-family and resort development ventures.
Through SH Realty Partners and its affiliates, James and his team have developed more than 3,000 residential units in metro Denver and nearly six-million square feet of high-quality real estate projects. That’s the equivalent of 125,000 football fields worth of design excellence and construction legacy.
Prior to establishing SH Realty Partners, James, who’s held a real estate license in Colorado since 1973, founded and served as chairman and CEO of SullivanHayes Brokerage Corporation, a prominent Denver-based commercial real estate company focused on shopping-center brokerage and property management. In October of 2004, the SullivanHayes Brokerage Corporation was sold to professional tennis star and French Open champion Michael Chang and his family.
During James’s tenure with SullivanHayes Brokerage Corporation, the company was recognized by the National Mall Monitor as one of the Top 50 Open Center developers in the United States. James also amassed numerous awards for excellence in design and development, including The City of Westminster for Towne Center at Brookhill (1986, and 1989), City Center Marketplace in 1997 and the coveted ICSC Design Award in 1997.
Additionally, in 1995, the National Council for Urban Economic Development presented SullivanHayes with the National Economic Development Partnership Award for its redevelopment of the Westland Towne Center in Lakewood, Colorado.
James is a decorated Vietnam war veteran, and his community accomplishments are nothing short of inspiring. He’s a former board commission member of the Colorado Real Estate Commission, past chairman of the Judicial Nominating Committee for the City and County of Denver, a guest lecturer at the University of Denver on the subject of shopping center development, and former board member of the Denver Mayor’s Business Roundtable and Denver Art, Culture and Film Foundation.
His generosity of time and resources to numerous charitable causes throughout Denver spans far and wide, and he has served in various capacities either as a board member of chair of The University of Colorado and CU Cancer Research Center, National Jewish Hospital, Children's Hospital, the American Heart Association, The Kempe Foundation and multiple homeless shelters, including Samaritan House, the Grand Prix Ball and Hope for the Children.
James, who has two grown children, continues to pioneer innovative real estate projects throughout Colorado while remaining fiercely philanthropic. His extraordinary accomplishments have greatly contributed to the economic fabric, advancement and vitality of Colorado’s boom.
